Intensive Outpatient Program Serving Hartford, CT
Waterview Behavioral Health offers an adult Intensive Outpatient Program for Hartford-area residents at its Wallingford location, approximately 35 minutes away depending on traffic and route. Five-day and three-day group schedules are available. IOP may be considered when weekly outpatient care is not providing enough structure but round-the-clock treatment is not indicated. Participants continue living at home while receiving organized behavioral health support. Admissions considers safety, current functioning, recent treatment, home support, transportation, insurance requirements, and whether consistent attendance is practical. A Flexible, Evidence-Based IOP
An individualized IOP plan may include clinician-led group therapy, individual therapy, family involvement when clinically appropriate, psychiatric care, medication management, and transition planning. Medical services are overseen by Dr. Straun, Waterview’s Medical Director, who is board-certified in General Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry. Depending on clinical need, treatment may incorporate CBT, DBT-informed skills, trauma-informed approaches, and EMDR. No single modality is used for every participant.

Mission Reset Program — A specialized track for first responders, veterans, and public safety professionals. This program understands the unique culture of service — hypervigilance, cumulative exposure, shift-work disruption — and creates a confidential peer environment where these experiences are understood, not explained.
