Mission Reset: First Responder & Veteran IOP in Connecticut
Who This Program Helps
Built for Those Who Serve Connecticut's Communities
Mission Reset is a specialized first responders IOP in Connecticut - not a general program that's been modified. Every group, every curriculum module, and every clinical approach is designed with the culture and operational realities of public safety careers in mind.
Why a Specialized IOP for First Responders Matters
First responders face chronic stress, critical incident exposure, and occupational demands that accumulate in ways standard outpatient treatment doesn't fully address. A general IOP isn't built for the culture, schedule, or specific trauma patterns of public safety work.

Peer Understanding
Group sessions consist entirely of first responders and veterans - people who understand the culture, the language, and what the job actually asks of you.

Occupation-Specific Curriculum
Mission Reset addresses hypervigilance, shift work disruption, cumulative critical incident exposure, and return-to-duty planning - not covered in general IOP settings.

Strict Confidentiality
Your department, employer, or commanding officer will not be notified. Participation is fully protected under HIPAA and federal confidentiality regulations.

Schedule Flexibility
Day groups are available to accommodate shift workers, those on modified duty, and those transitioning out of active service.

Return-to-Duty Focus
Recovery is framed around functional resilience - not just symptom reduction. Skills taught in Mission Reset are designed to translate directly back to work and home life.

Psychiatric Oversight
The program includes medication management with psychiatric oversight alongside individual and group therapy - a full level of IOP care in one coordinated program.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
If you're considering Mission Reset, you probably have questions - especially about confidentiality and scheduling. Here are the ones we hear most often.
Is Mission Reset confidential? Will my department find out?
Yes. Mission Reset is fully confidential. Your participation is protected under HIPAA and federal confidentiality regulations (42 CFR Part 2 for substance use). Your employer, department, or commanding officer will not be notified unless you specifically authorize it, or there is an imminent safety concern requiring mandatory reporting.
Can I attend Mission Reset IOP and still work?
Yes. Mission Reset offers day group options designed specifically to accommodate working first responders and those on modified duty assignments. Many participants continue working or stay active in their departments while enrolled. The program is built around your schedule, not the other way around
Does Mission Reset treat PTSD in first responders?
Yes. PTSD and occupational trauma are core clinical focuses of Mission Reset. The program uses evidence-based approaches including EMDR Grounding, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and a Posttraumatic Growth curriculum specifically adapted for law enforcement, fire, EMS, and military personnel. You don't need a formal PTSD diagnosis to participate.
What insurance does Mission Reset accept?
Mission Reset accepts Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Magellan Healthcare, Yale Health, VA Community Care Network, and TRICARE. The admissions team will verify your in-network benefits before your first session and can discuss out-of-network billing options if needed.
How is Mission Reset different from a general IOP?
Mission Reset is built exclusively for first responders and veterans - not a general program with a modified module. Group sessions consist entirely of peers with shared occupational backgrounds. The curriculum directly addresses hypervigilance, shift work disruption, cumulative critical incident exposure, and return-to-duty planning. These are not standard IOP curriculum topics.
Do I need to have a substance use problem to join Mission Reset?
No. Mission Reset treats a full spectrum of mental health conditions including PTSD, depression, anxiety, occupational burnout, mood disorders, and co-occurring conditions. Substance use is one of many issues addressed in the program - not a requirement for admission.
