First Responder IOP in Connecticut | Mission Reset Program
Waterview Behavioral Health’s Mission Reset program is a specialized Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) designed specifically for Connecticut’s first responders — police officers, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, correction officers, dispatchers, and veterans. We understand the culture, the demands, and the invisible weight that comes with the job.
Mission Reset provides a confidential, peer-informed environment where first responders can address PTSD, depression, anxiety, substance use, and the cumulative effects of critical incident exposure — without fear of stigma or career consequences.
About Our Intensive Outpatient Program
Waterview Behavioral Health offers a comprehensive IOP that runs three days per week, three hours per day. Our program includes group therapy, individual therapy, family therapy, and medication management overseen by our Medical Director, Dr. Straun — board-certified in both General Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry.
We offer four specialized tracks to match each client’s needs:
- Mental Health Track — Depression, anxiety, bipolar, PTSD, ADHD, personality disorders
- Chemical Dependency Track — Substance use disorders with evidence-based relapse prevention
- Co-Occurring Disorders Track — Integrated treatment for co-occurring mental health and substance use
- Mission Reset Track — Specialized IOP for first responders and veterans
All treatment modalities are evidence-based, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and trauma-focused care. EMDR is uncommon in IOP settings — it’s one of our key differentiators.
