Veteran Mental Health CT | IOP & Mission Reset Program

Veteran Mental Health Treatment in Connecticut | Mission Reset IOP

Waterview Behavioral Health offers specialized mental health and substance use treatment for Connecticut veterans through our Mission Reset Intensive Outpatient Program. We accept VA Community Care Network (VA CCN) and TRICARE, making care accessible without out-of-pocket barriers for most veterans.

Our program is built to address the unique challenges veterans face — PTSD, moral injury, depression, anxiety, substance use, and the transition from military to civilian life. Mission Reset provides structured, evidence-based care in a confidential, peer-informed environment that understands military culture.

About Our Intensive Outpatient Program

Waterview Behavioral Health offers a comprehensive IOP that runs three days per week, three hours per day. Our program includes group therapy, individual therapy, family therapy, and medication management overseen by our Medical Director, Dr. Straun — board-certified in both General Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry.

We offer four specialized tracks to match each client’s needs:

  • Mental Health Track — Depression, anxiety, bipolar, PTSD, ADHD, personality disorders
  • Chemical Dependency Track — Substance use disorders with evidence-based relapse prevention
  • Co-Occurring Disorders Track — Integrated treatment for co-occurring mental health and substance use
  • Mission Reset Track — Specialized IOP for first responders and veterans

All treatment modalities are evidence-based, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and trauma-focused care. EMDR is uncommon in IOP settings — it’s one of our key differentiators.
