Intensive Outpatient Program in Wallingford, CT

Waterview Behavioral Health is part of the Wallingford community. Located at 300 Church Street, Suite 302, our Intensive Outpatient Program is right here — no long commute, no navigating unfamiliar highways, no barrier between you and the care you need. If you live in Wallingford or the surrounding neighborhoods, you can walk in, call, or text to begin the process of getting meaningful clinical support for depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance use, or other behavioral health challenges.

As a Joint Commission-accredited program rooted in this community, Waterview was built to serve the people who live and work here. Whether you’re a working professional in downtown Wallingford, a parent managing family responsibilities, or a young adult looking for structured support, our IOP is designed to fit into your life — not the other way around.

Your Neighborhood IOP

Our program runs three days per week, three hours per day — a structure that provides meaningful clinical depth while allowing you to maintain work, school, and family commitments. Each week includes group therapy, individual therapy, family therapy when clinically appropriate, and medication management overseen by our Medical Director, Dr. Straun, who is board-certified in both General Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry.

Being local means treatment is easier to sustain. You can attend a morning session and be home for lunch. You can fit an appointment around your child’s school schedule. You can come straight from work without adding an hour of highway driving to an already demanding day. That accessibility matters — because consistency is what makes treatment work.

Evidence-Based Clinical Care

We use evidence-based therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR is a trauma-focused approach with strong research support for PTSD and anxiety — and it remains uncommon in outpatient programs. Its availability at Waterview is one of the reasons individuals and clinicians throughout Connecticut choose our program.

Four Specialized Tracks

Mental Health Track — For individuals living with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD, OCD, and related conditions that benefit from structured outpatient support.

Chemical Dependency Track — For those addressing substance use disorders with a focus on recovery skills, relapse prevention, and building a sustainable path forward.

Co-Occurring Track — For individuals managing both mental health and substance use challenges simultaneously.

Mission Reset Program — A specialized track for first responders, veterans, and public safety professionals.

Insurance and Admissions

We are in-network with Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Empire BCBS, Magellan, VA Community Care Network, Yale Health, and TRICARE. We also work with plans offering out-of-network behavioral health benefits. Our admissions team can verify your coverage before your first session — visit our payment and insurance page for details.
